Addis ababa: President Taye Atske Selassie declared Ethiopia's 2026 Election as a pivotal step towards establishing a stable and strong Ethiopia. Casting his vote earlier today, President Taye emphasized that "this election is by many standards phenomenal."
According to Ethiopian News Agency, more than 54 million people registered to vote, marking an exceptional turnout for Ethiopia. President Taye noted that the large number of registered voters is significant, with 42 political parties participating alongside a notable number of independent candidates. He further highlighted this as a step towards building a stable and strong nation.
President Taye expressed his excitement about the election, acknowledging the presence of detractors but emphasizing the importance of demonstrating that "the ballot is stronger than the bullet." He underscored that he was voting for his community, himself, and his country, describing the day as special.
