Ethiopian Disaster Risk Management Commission Dispatches Second Round of Aid to Afar Region

Adama:Afar The Ethiopian Disaster Risk Management Commission (EDRMC) has announced the launch of its second round of humanitarian assistance for communities severely impacted by climate-related shocks in the Afar Region.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, relief supplies have been dispatched from central reserve warehouses in Adama and are on their way to support vulnerable households facing severe moisture stress, drought, and risks of seasonal flooding in the region.

Trucks loaded with emergency relief supplies departed today from the central grain storage warehouse in Adama, destined for the affected areas across Afar. This effort is part of a broader initiative to assist the most vulnerable communities as the regional government continues to mobilize local resources to address the ongoing crisis.

The commission reaffirmed its commitment to aiding affected populations and emphasized its continuous efforts to enhance the country's capacity to respond to both natural and human-induced disasters. Measures have been implemented to ensure that relief supplies reach the intended beneficiaries efficiently.

This initiative follows an initial round of humanitarian assistance that was delivered to several areas of the Afar Region a few days ago, as reported by the EDRMC.
