National Dialogue Commission Discusses Draft Agendas with Civic Organizations, Associations

Washington: The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (ENDC) has tabled today draft agendas for discussion to civic organizations and associations: The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (ENDC) has presented draft agendas to civic organizations and associations. Chief Commissioner, Professor Mesfin Araya, stated that these organizations have been integral to the dialogue process.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the Commission's collaboration with these organizations has been crucial in maintaining inclusiveness. Professor Mesfin highlighted that the meeting aimed to inform stakeholders about the draft agendas before the National Dialogue Conference and to gather their feedback.

He expressed gratitude to the civic organizations and associations for their cooperation and provided an overview of the ENDC's four-year agenda gathering process. The Chief Commissioner encouraged these organizations to continue their crucial roles in the upcoming National Dialogue Conference.

Deputy Chief Commissioner Hirut Gebre Selassie noted that the agenda items are in the preliminary draft stage. She emphasized that the proposal will be refined with broad input from stakeholders.

Commissioner Melaku Woldemariam stated that the proposed agendas were developed under Article 6 of the Commission's proclamation, with criteria emphasizing national consensus and peace.

Representatives from various organizations, including the Ethiopian Teachers Association, Coalition of Ethiopian Edirs, the Federation of Persons with Disabilities of Ethiopia, Ethiopians For Inclusive Dialogue, the Ethiopian not-for-profit organization TIMRAN, and Destiny Ethiopia, participated in the discussion.
