Tigray Agenda Gathering Process to be Held in Addis Ababa: Nat’l Dialogue Commission

Addis ababa: The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission announced that the agenda gathering process for Tigray Regional State will be held in Addis Ababa from April 1 to 3, 2026.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the Commission held a press conference regarding the national dialogue process taking place in Tigray Region. National Dialogue Chief Commissioner, Professor Mesfin Araya, stated that the activity of the commission in making the dialogue participatory and inclusive has been successful.

The Chief Commissioner recalled the commission's extensive efforts to initiate dialogue in the Tigray region and create favorable conditions for the process. He noted that more than 22 discussions have been held with the regional interim administration, political parties operating in the region, scholars, and other stakeholders in the regional capital Mekelle and Addis Ababa.

Due to the lack of enabling conditions, the commission has decided to hold the regional agenda gathering and identification of regional representatives for the forthcoming National Dialogue Conference in Addis Ababa. Accordingly, the regional agenda gathering process and identification of representatives will take place from April 1 to 3, 2026, the Chief Commissioner announced.
