Temesgen Tiruneh Reappointed as Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister

Addis Ababa:Temesgen Tiruneh has been reappointed as Deputy Prime Minister amid Ethiopia's efforts to establish its new Medemer Government.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, his reappointment came after Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed presented Cabinet nominees to the House of Peoples' Representatives during the 1st regular session of the 7th House in Addis Ababa. This presentation was part of the constitutional process to establish the new federal government following the Seventh General Election.

The formation of the Medemer Government signifies the start of a new five-year chapter for Ethiopia, coinciding with the opening of the newly elected Parliament and Abiy Ahmed's appointment for a second term as Prime Minister. Temesgen, who previously held the position of Deputy Prime Minister, has been instrumental in coordinating government affairs and advancing national development priorities.

The current parliamentary proceedings are crucial for the formal establishment of the federal executive, setting the institutional groundwork for the government's forthcoming five-year term.
