Addis ababa: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has extended his best wishes on Africa Day, calling for greater continental unity and renewed commitment to action-driven progress.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the Prime Minister shared his message on social media, stating: ‘Happy Africa Day to all our African brothers and sisters.’ He reflected on the historical significance of the gathering 63 years ago in Addis Ababa, where African leaders envisioned a free and united continent.
Abiy highlighted Ethiopia’s role as the host of the African Union, expressing solidarity with all African nations in the spirit of unity. He encouraged a shift ‘from words to action, from promises to progress,’ underscoring Africa’s greatest strength being its people.
The Prime Minister concluded his message with a call to collective advancement, stating, ‘Together, we rise.’
