Addis ababa: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has reaffirmed Ethiopia's commitment to deepening its partnership with Pakistan after receiving a congratulatory message from Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the Prosperity Party's victory in the 7th General Election.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, Prime Minister Abiy expressed his appreciation for the warm congratulations from Prime Minister Shehbaz and emphasized the shared aspirations that unite the two nations. He highlighted the enduring spirit of brotherhood between Ethiopia and Pakistan, noting their shared commitment to prosperity and progress. "I look forward to deepening our bilateral engagement and advancing the partnership our two nations have committed to build," PM Abiy stated.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Prime Minister Abiy and the Prosperity Party on their decisive victory in Ethiopia's 7th General Election, while reaffirming Pakistan's commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation. Shehbaz described the relations between Ethiopia and Pakistan as warm and steadily expanding, and expressed confidence in Ethiopia's continued path toward peace, development, and prosperity.
The exchange of messages underscores the growing diplomatic momentum between Ethiopia and Pakistan, with both governments reaffirming their shared commitment to expanding cooperation across political, economic, trade, investment, and multilateral sectors.
