Hundreds of Thousands Celebrate Irreecha Festival in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa:The Irreecha festival, a thanksgiving celebration of the Oromo people, is taking place at Hora Finfinnee in Addis Ababa, showcasing a vibrant display of culture, tradition, unity, and joy.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, from early morning, hundreds of thousands gathered dressed in colorful traditional attire, filling the area with music, dance, blessings, and cultural pride. Participants included Abbaa Gadaas, elders, youth, and guests from various backgrounds, highlighting the richness and diversity of Oromo heritage.

Irreecha has become a powerful symbol of peace, unity, and togetherness, uniting people from Oromia and across Ethiopia. The festival's traditional costumes, songs, dances, and rituals created a spectacular cultural scene, attracting national and international interest.
