Ethiopian Delegation Visits Kenya to Share Experiences in Tea Industry
Addis Ababa: The Ethiopian delegation from both the public and private sectors, primarily from Oromia Regional State, visited Kenya from September 12-13, 2024 with a view to learn from Kenya experience in the production and processing of tea industry.
The delegation is led by Head of the Office of the President of Oromia Regional State, Abdulaziz Dawud, and comprises prominent business leaders from the region and throughout Ethiopia.
During its two-day visit, the delegation engaged in an interactive discussion with an official from the Kenya Tea Development Agency.
They were briefed on how smallholder farmers and tea processing industries collaborate throughout the production, processing, and marketing stages.
The delegation also visited tea farming, processing plant as well as processing machines.
Ethiopian Embassy in Kenya said this visit marks a significant step in exploring and sharing knowledge within this vital sector.
It also stands as a testament to the strong and growing partnership between Eth
iopia and Kenya.
Ambassador Demeke Atnafu expressed profound gratitude to the Kenya Tea Development Agency for sharing their expertise and practices in tea production and investment.
He emphasized that both Ethiopia and Kenya have much to learn from each other, which could greatly benefit their respective people.
