PM Abiy Wishes Students Success as New Academic Year Begins

Addis ababa: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed extended his best wishes to students across Ethiopia as the 2019 academic year begins, urging them to pursue excellence and help shape the country's future.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, in a social media post, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed stated, "Our young generation is Ethiopia's greatest wealth," emphasizing that "as the 2019 academic year begins, I encourage every student to learn with curiosity, pursue excellence, and develop the skills to shape our nation's future."

He highlighted that much of what is being built today is intended "for generations to come," stressing that students, as "the beneficiaries and custodians of that future," have a vital role in carrying Ethiopia's "proud legacy of civilization forward."

The Prime Minister also commended teachers, acknowledging that their dedication is "central to building a capable and confident generation." He encouraged them to "continue inspiring our students, nurturing their potential, and equipping them with the knowledge and values to thrive."

Moreover, he extended his wishes for a successful and rewarding academic year to all stakeholders in the education sector.
