Addis ababa: A delegation from India's National Defense College, led by Major General Pawanpal Singh, Senior Directing Staff, visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ethiopia. They were received by Ambassador Dewano Kedir, the Director General for Middle East, Asia and Pacific Affairs, marking a significant moment in the diplomatic relationship between the two nations.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, Ambassador Dewano welcomed the delegation by emphasizing the historical and growing diplomatic relations between Ethiopia and India. He highlighted the strategic partnership between the countries, focusing on the areas of trade and investment, and acknowledged the vital role of Indian investors in bolstering Ethiopia's economy. Additionally, he pointed out the robust and enduring cooperation in the defense sector.
The delegation, comprising members from India, Tanzania, Bangladesh, Germany, Myanmar, and Nepal, is on a study tour to various Ethiopian institutions. This visit aims to provide them with a deeper understanding of Ethiopia's regional influence and its role in international affairs. During their meeting, the guests were presented with an overview of Ethiopia's current political and economic climate, its regional engagements, and its contributions to global matters.
