Addis Ababa:Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has emphasized the significance of the strategic partnership between Ethiopia and Russia, stating that it will diversify Ethiopia's energy options, accelerate the country's prosperity, and further strengthen the bilateral bond between the two nations.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, Prime Minister Abiy expressed his enthusiasm for addressing the 3rd Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow. He highlighted the importance of collective commitment and cooperation to ensure that historic decisions lead to tangible outcomes.
The Prime Minister also shared on social media that Ethiopia remains dedicated to three key pillars essential for its national development and sustainable prosperity food security and productivity, a reliable energy supply, and the transfer of skills and knowledge. He noted that diplomatic ties with Russia have been established for over a century, based on mutual respect and shared benefits. To enhance this historic friendship, Ethiopia is collaborating with Russia on constructing a world-class nuclear power plant.
