Ethiopia and Azerbaijan Pledge to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation

Addis ababa: Speakers of Ethiopia and Azerbaijan have reiterated their commitment to strengthening cooperation in various spheres. Azerbaijan National Assembly Speaker, Sahiba Gafarova, and Ethiopia's House of People's Representatives Speaker, Tagesse Chafo, held a discussion in Addis Ababa on Tuesday.According to Ethiopian News Agency, Tagesse briefed the delegation on the wide business opportunities in Ethiopia, identifying five major priority sectors such as agriculture, industry, mining, tourism, and ICT. Ethiopia is ready to collaborate with Azerbaijan in these and other areas, he said, encouraging Azerbaijani investors to engage in investment.He noted that the recent macroeconomic reforms in Ethiopia provide ample opportunities for investors, enhancing economic ties, especially in mining, oil and gas, trade, tourism, education, and science. Speaker Tagesse also updated his counterpart about the successful 7th General Election and the ongoing Ethiopian National Dialogue.For her part, Speaker Gafaro va expressed her country's keenness to work closely with Ethiopia in education, people-to-people ties, and agriculture, among others. She affirmed that Ethiopia is one of the most important countries in Africa, and Azerbaijan is committed to expanding collaboration with the country.
