Corridor Development Projects Transforming 43 Amhara Cities and Towns

Woldia: Corridor development projects are being carried out in 43 cities and towns of the Amhara Region, according to officials of the region. This was disclosed during the visit of Amhara region senior officials in Woldia city last night. The projects aim to enhance connectivity and upgrade infrastructure, significantly impacting local development.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the Amhara Regional State Urban Sector Coordinator with the rank of Deputy Chief Administrator, Ahmedin Mohammed, highlighted the strategic importance of the corridor development project in Woldia City. He noted that the project has increased Woldia's connectivity with many cities, transforming narrow roads and congested areas into wide bridges and spacious entertainment and commercial zones. Ahmedin emphasized that corridor development is crucial for nation-building, as it lays the groundwork for future generations.

Amhara Regional State Urban and Infrastructure Development Bureau Head, Molla Melkamu, stated that the region's cities and towns are shedding their old appearances and evolving into vibrant centers for work, living, and tourism. He praised Woldia city for its remarkable changes achieved through high-speed and quality work. Molla explained that the Medemer government has embraced an entrepreneurial approach, efficiently utilizing limited resources to complete projects rapidly.

Molla further highlighted the collaborative efforts of Woldia's leadership and residents in raising resources and taking swift action to boost the city's economic value. This collaboration, he said, serves as a testament to overcoming challenges through united efforts and offers a valuable lesson for the entire region.
