ADDIS ABABA: The Ethiopian Diaspora Service has announced plans to establish a 250-member international advisory board aimed at enhancing the diaspora's contribution to the country's development. This announcement came during a discussion held today focusing on strengthening the participation of the diaspora community in Ethiopia's comprehensive development activities.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the Ethiopian Diaspora Service recognizes the significant contributions of the diaspora in times of national difficulty, including financial support and assistance in various development projects. The director-general noted the increasing role of the diaspora in transferring knowledge, skills, and technology to Ethiopia. The formation of this advisory board is a step towards consolidating and further enhancing the participation of the Ethiopian Diaspora in national development efforts. The government is also developing various packages to engage the diaspora more actively in the country's development activities.
