ADDIS ABABA – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has officially opened a new center dedicated to prosthetic and orthotic services in Ethiopia's capital, fulfilling a directive he issued three years prior.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the center is a response to the growing demand for prosthetic and orthotic products in the country, which will now be produced locally. The services are aimed at individuals who have become disabled due to natural causes or accidents.
The Ethiopian Prosthetic and Orthotic Service is designed to develop and provide assistive technologies, ensuring the production of high-quality, customer-focused prosthetics and other physical supports. The center will also offer various rehabilitation services to support those in need.
