Opening of the works of the project ‘I am the street’, intended to stimulate the creative potential of children in street situations

The Center for Education and Vocational Training (CEFP) of Ouagadougou hosted this Saturday, October 5, the opening of the photographic, pictorial and choreographic works of the project entitled "I am the street", an initiative led by the Ouaga studio center.This project, centered on art and more particularly on photography, paintings, drawings but also choreography, aims to support children in street situations by stimulating their creative potential."The main objective is to stimulate the potential of children hosted in the CEFP through various artistic workshops, such as dance, plastic art, art therapy and especially photography," said the promoter of the project, Silvia Ferraris Yaméogo.According to Silvia Ferraris, this edition was distinguished by the integration of several forms of artistic expression to allow each child to find their way, because the arts reveal the best in each human being.The director of the CEFP of Ouagadougou, Guiébré Abdoul, maintains that the project "I am the street" al lows to enhance the potential of children and contribute to their development.He also stressed that these 160 children, despite their time on the streets, demonstrated great resilience through the choreography, while inviting the public to discover this center which welcomes more than 500 children per year.The event provided an opportunity to launch a call for solidarity, because according to the organizers, street children have immense potential and deserve all possible support to fully develop.Source: Burkina Information Agency
