The President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, announced on Monday that relations between his country and Mali will now be upgraded to the status of "strategic partnership".After a meeting with Mali's head of state, Colonel Assimi Goïta, Chinese President Xi Jinping indicated that relations between Mali and China will now be elevated to the status of "strategic partnership."For the Chinese president, it is about writing a new historical page in the annals of Sino-Malian cooperation.Accordingly, China will continue and intensify its cooperation with Mali by supporting it on the path of development, in accordance with its realities, President Xi Jinping said.For his part, President Goïta welcomed his counterpart's decision to raise the level of partnership between the two countries.As a reminder, the Malian president is currently in Beijing, China, where he will take part in the 9th summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation from September 4 to 6, 2024.Source: Burkina Informatio n Agency
