Mr Stephen Akpabli, the Ho West Assistant Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has issued a call to party members to support Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who has been elected as the party's flagbearer for the 2024 general election. This statement comes in the wake of Dr Bawumia's victory in the party's primaries.
According to Ghana News Agency, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Ho, the election of Dr Bawumia as the flagbearer represents a collective win for the entire NPP. He emphasized the importance of unity within the party, urging members to set aside any differences and work together to secure victory in the upcoming national election.
Mr Akpabli expressed his congratulations to the Vice President on his successful bid for the flagbearership. He also extended his gratitude to all who supported Dr Bawumia’s vision and candidacy. He firmly believes that Dr Bawumia is the best candidate to lead the NPP to victory in December 2024, a sentiment he feels was reflected in the results of the primary.
In his appeal to party members, Mr Akpabli stressed the need to maintain unity and not allow the primary results to cause division within the party. He reminded them that the primary was an internal party election and urged members to accept the outcome and come together for the greater task ahead in the general election.
