ADDIS ABABA: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia held a significant bilateral discussion with Cuba’s Vice President, Salvador Valdez Mesa, who is in Addis Ababa on a working visit.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the discussion between PM Abiy and Vice President Mesa focused on strengthening cooperation in various sectors. The two leaders explored potential enhancements in the fields of medical services, tourism, education, and the sugar industry. This meeting marks an important step in fostering deeper bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Cuba.
During his visit, Vice President Mesa also paid homage to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives supporting Ethiopia during the 1975 conflict against Siad Barre's army from Somalia. He visited the Ethio-Cuban Friendship Park in Addis Ababa, a symbol of the historic ties and solidarity between the two nations.
