UN suspends food aid to Ethiopia as new figures reveal conflict’s vast death toll
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) said on Friday it was suspending food aid in Ethiopia due to the widespread theft of donations, a day after the United States announced it was doing the same. A devastating two-year war in the country ended in November but fallout from the conflict continues, with new figures suggest that over 100,000 pêople died, taking global conflict related deaths to a 28 year high.
