Accra, Ghana - Madam Kate Gyamfuah, the National Women's Organizer of Ghana's New Patriotic Party (NPP), has praised the current NPP-led government for its impactful contributions to the welfare of women in the country. In a recent interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra, Gyamfuah highlighted the government's pro-poor policies as pivotal in enhancing the livelihoods and well-being of women.

According to Ghana News Agency, initiatives such as the Free Senior High School, Planting for Food and Jobs, Ghana School Feeding Programme, and the One District One Factory have significantly supported women in diverse ways. She emphasized that these programs have not only improved living conditions but also provided economic opportunities for women across Ghana.

In light of these developments, Gyamfuah called on party supporters, especially women, to redouble their efforts to ensure the NPP retains power. The continuation of these pro-poor policies, she argued, is essential for benefiting the vulnerable and poor segments of society, enabling them to lead more decent lives.

Gyamfuah contrasted the NPP's achievements with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), suggesting that a vote for the NDC would equate to endorsing insensitivity, hardship, and a lack of vision. She credited the Free Senior High School initiative for enabling many Ghanaian women, who otherwise couldn’t afford high school fees, to save money for other economic ventures.

The impact of these policies is evident, with more than 5,000 women caterers employed under the School Feeding Programme and numerous women farmers benefiting from the Planting for Food and Jobs initiative. These efforts, Gyamfuah noted, are crucial for addressing malnutrition, hunger, and food security in Ghana.

Gyamfuah also touched upon the upcoming parliamentary primary within the party. She urged aspirants to engage in peaceful campaigns, avoiding insults and name-calling, and called for unity within the party to achieve victory in the 2024 elections.
