National Rehabilitation Commission, Stakeholders Are in Mekelle to Hold Joint Consultative Forum

A joint consultative forum of the National Rehabilitation Commission and stakeholders is expected to conduct in Mekelle, Tigray regional capital, today.

National Rehabilitation Commissioner, Teshome Toga and other senior government officials are are participating in the consultation forum.

The commission was established on 30th December 2022 to rehabilitate citizens to be disarmed and enable them to lead normal civilian life in line with the Pretoria peace agreement signed between the federal government and TPLF.

The main focus of the forum is to reach mutual agreement on the missions and the main activities as well as the organization of the commission for the next two years with concerned stakeholders.

The consultative forum proves that there is a stable situation in Tigray region after the cessation of hostilities and trust has been built between the federal government and the TPLF, it was pointed out.

In addition, it confirms the commitment of the Ethiopian government in enabling ex-combatants to lead a sustainable and peaceful life.

As the National Rehabilitation Commission cannot accomplish its mission alone, the forum will play a significant role in developing an integrated procedure with stakeholders, it was stated.
