Irish State Minister Discusses Resumption of Flights and Upcoming Agreements in Addis Ababa Meeting

Addis Ababa – Ambassador Mesganu Arga, Foreign Affairs State Minister of Ethiopia, welcomed Sean Fleming, the Irish State Minister at the Department of Foreign Affairs, to his office today for discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral relations.

According to the Ethiopia News Agency, Ambassador Mesganu stated that the diplomatic ties between Ethiopia and Ireland are improving and urged the Irish side to help advance cooperation on multiple fronts. Minister Sean Fleming conveyed his satisfaction that Ethiopian Airlines is set to restart its service from Addis Ababa to Dublin within the coming week. He also emphasized the Irish people’s commitment to continue humanitarian support for Ethiopia.

Nicola Brennan, the Irish Ambassador to Ethiopia, indicated that during their stay, the Irish delegation is scheduled to sign agreements with Ethiopia’s Ministry of Finance, Agriculture, and Health. Additionally, the delegation plans to engage with the Irish community and businesspeople residing in Ethiopia, tour the Somali Region, and inspect the Ethiopian Airlines cargo facility.

In light of these developments, Ambassador Mesganu called for fortified investment relations between the two nations, appreciating the mutual efforts to rebuild confidence in their diplomatic relationship.
