IGAD, European Union Reaffirm Shared Commitment to Regional Peace and Security

Addis Ababa: The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and European Union held their partnership dialogue in Djibouti today. Executive Secretary of IGAD, Workneh Gebeyehu co-chaired the Partnership Dialogue with Denisa-Elena Ionete, EU Ambassador to Djibouti and IGAD.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the Dialogue reaffirmed the shared commitment to regional peace and security, emphasizing the importance of multilateral cooperation in addressing political, security, humanitarian, and climate challenges in the Horn of Africa. Workneh Gebeyehu highlighted IGAD’s vital role in mobilizing greater international support for conflict resolution. He also expressed their commitment to strengthening the IGAD-EU strategic partnership in support of regional stability and development.
