ADDIS ABABA – The Ministry of Labor and Skills has officially launched a suite of three digital products aimed at improving labor market operations, business processes for enterprises, and competency assessment services in Ethiopia.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the newly introduced digital platforms – Lucy E-commerce, the COC system, and the Bequ App – were developed through collaborations with relevant government bodies using domestic resources. These platforms are part of Ethiopia’s broader move toward digitalization.

Lucy E-commerce, a web and app-based platform, is expected to enhance the business activities of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Meanwhile, the Bequ App is designed to provide up-to-date labor market information, and the COC Automation system is set to bolster competency assessment services.

The launch event was attended by key government officials including the Minister of Labor and Skills Muferiat Kamil, the Minister of Trade and Regional Integration, Gebremeskel Challa, and the Director-General of the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute, Werku Gachena.
