Day of excellence: district 12 of Ouagadougou celebrates its cracs

General

Ouagadougou, The special delegation from District 12 of Ouagadougou celebrated Wednesday in the said district, the merits of the brilliant students and teachers who carried the torch of their district high during the school year.

It was during a day called Excellence that the merits of these actors in the school world of district 12 were recognized. 59 students (including one with a disability), 45 post-primary and secondary students, 21 primary school teachers and 17 retired teachers received gifts and congratulations from the President of the special delegation (PDS) of district 12 from Ouagadougou Zalissa Paré/Salambéré.

“My congratulations to the valiant teachers and educational supervisors. You deserve the tributes of all for the enormous sacrifices made in the education of the men and women of tomorrow,” said the PDS of district 12, Ms. Paré.

She urged those involved in education to redouble their efforts in their work because, "one of the truths that I had the opportunity to express is that work well done always has its reward."

Multifaceted rewards consisting of bicycles and school bags (for students) and certificates of recognition (for active and retired teachers) were distributed to the most deserving.

What justifies the celebration of this day of excellence is that the Basic Education District (CEB) Ouaga 12 recorded a success rate this year, of 82.46% in the CEP exam (for a forecast of 70%) and occupies 3rd place out of the 12 CEBs in the commune of Ouagadougou.

For the head of the basic education district of Ouaga 12 who continued to thank the PDS of his district, Ms. Paré, “beyond the gifts to teachers and students, this ceremony is a real awareness. This lady is fighting for the CEB to have a face that reflects district 12.”

For the president of the Organizing Committee, Inspector Zoungrana Jacqueline, “the objective (of this ceremony: editor's note) must transcend despite the low prices”.

Sustaining excellence for a quality society

This Day of Excellence activity, which is in its 2nd edition , will continue, according to the organizers who want to make it their hobby horse.

Taking up a quote from Professor Ki-Zerbo, PDS Zalissa Paré said that “education is the software of the central computer which programs the future of societies. As a result, a society that renounces taking charge of its youth and providing them with the tools for optimal promotion, buries its own future.”

Despite the adversity of the difficult security situation in the country, district 12 promises to celebrate its cracks. The PDS also recalled that the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, during the day of excellence on the national level, said that “the search for excellence must not be abandoned on the grounds that we are affected by terrorism.

District 12 of Ouagadougou has 43 schools including 11 public and 32 private, 3 CEG and 1 high school. The ceremony was colorful with musical performances by students and teachers.
