Colonel Zoungrana-Newton Barry case: the file postponed one last time to November 24
The legal case brought in mid-September by the former Minister of Territorial Administration, Colonel Boukaré Zoungrana, against the journalist Newton Ahmed Barry, was sent back one last time to the 24 November 2023, the AIB has learned.
Note that the judicial police officers responsible for notifying the complaint found the journalist’s home, which however appears uninhabited.
The file was retained for the first time on October 20 then on November 3 before being returned a final time on November 24, 2023.
As a reminder, the former minister in charge of Territorial Administration, Colonel Boukaré Zoungrana, filed a complaint against journalist Newton Ahmed Barry for “defamation and slanderous denunciation”, on September 12, 2023.
Three days earlier, Mr. Barry wrote on his Facebook page that Colonel Zoungrana had been thanked by the government for having advocated dialogue with the terrorists because the soldiers would be exhausted.
