Ahafo NPP Prepares to Vet Asunafo South Parliamentary Primary Aspirants

Ahafo Region – The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Ahafo Regional branch is set to vet four aspirants for the upcoming parliamentary primary in Asunafo South, one of the region’s orphan constituencies. These individuals have filed their nominations to contest in what promises to be a closely watched primary within the party.

According to Ghana News Agency, the Ahafo Regional Secretary of the NPP, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the vetting process is a crucial step in ensuring the eligibility of the candidates to contest in the parliamentary primaries scheduled for December 2. The four aspirants include Mr Frank Adusi Poku, the Asunafo South District Chief Executive; Mr Kobby Amoah Mensah, the NPP’s 2020 Parliamentary Candidate; Madam Nancy Owusu Kwartemaa, the NPP Asunafo South Constituency Women Organizer; and Mr Albert Boakye Poku.

The party has already completed a similar process in the Asutifi South constituency, where Mr Yaw Owusu Brempong, the Chief Executive Officer of the Venture Capital Trust Fund, was elected as the Election 2024 parliamentary candidate through popular acclamation. Mr Brempong was the sole aspirant to file nomination papers by the close of the nomination period.

The vetting of the Asunafo South aspirants is a key part of the NPP’s preparation for the parliamentary elections and is indicative of the party’s commitment to ensuring a democratic and transparent selection process for its candidates.
