AECI Mining Explosives Honors 27 Employees for Long-Term Service in Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality
Prestea – In a significant acknowledgment of employee dedication and service, AECI Mining Explosives recently celebrated 27 of its long-serving employees in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality. The event, which was part of the company’s 30th-anniversary celebrations, recognized staff members who have contributed between 10 to 30 years to the company’s growth and success.
According to Ghana News Agency, the employees were awarded various gifts including televisions, double door fridges, chest freezers, cash, and certificates. This gesture reflects the company’s appreciation for their consistent and valuable contributions over the years.
Johan Duvenhage, Managing Director of Anglophone West Africa, addressed the ceremony, highlighting the exceptional efforts of both current and former employees. He credited them with playing a pivotal role in establishing AECI Mining Explosives as a leading global supplier of explosives and initiating systems. Mr. Duvenhage emphasized the importance of trust in business relationships, praising his team for their reliability and dedication to the company’s success.
Mr. Duvenhage further remarked on the significance of understanding employees’ needs and aspirations, emphasizing the balance between performance demands and compassion for employee well-being. He expressed pride in the trust and respect built between AECI and Ghanaians over the past 30 years, navigating through the country’s various transitions.
Isaac Tandoh, Mining Manager of Gold Fields Ghana Limited (GFGL) Tarkwa Mine, acknowledged AECI’s unique corporate values that underpin their service delivery. He mentioned the ‘BIGGER’ values (Bold, Innovative, Going Green, Engaged, and Responsible) as key to the company’s success and brand promise. Mr. Tandoh also highlighted AECI’s advanced technology in explosives and their significant research and development department in Johannesburg, South Africa, which caters to customer-specific needs in the mining industry.
Benjamin Kessie, Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Chief Executive, congratulated the award winners and urged stakeholders in the mining industry to invest in innovative and reliable energy solutions. He pointed out the potential for these solutions to reduce environmental impacts such as noise, vibration, dust, and ground disturbance typically associated with blasting.
One of the award recipients, Mr. Samuel Ofori, expressed gratitude to the company’s management for providing a safe working environment and assured his continued dedication to achieving AECI Mining Explosives’ goals.
